Blending electronic and grassroots elements, Jed Craddock’s music is its own kind of “eclectic pop.” The melding of many genres while being predictably unpredictable. The dynamic voice of Jed Craddock serves as a bridge that connects many musical genres. While he may jump from tender acoustic too heavy hitting trap he always writes and produces with the song at the forefront. “It doesn’t matter whether I start with drums, bass, keys or guitar, I’m constantly asking myself, what does this song need? How can I build something that sounds honest and ultimately feels good to create!”
Jed started his musical life with piano and choir. Not long after, his dad got him started playing in drum circles, singing hymns and chanting in choral ensembles. He later went on to sing in the San Antonio children’s choir where he was introduced to a more formal musical setting.
In early middle school, Jed joined band where he was introduced to orchestral percussion and jazz. He immediately fell in love with drums. His first drum kit must have been responsible for several decibels of hearing loss because he played non-stop! His high energy personality was finally satiated by music, especially when he would be ripping up a breakdown with his metal band.
Before he made it too high school, he started playing his moms classical guitar. He loved how portable and versatile it was. It was the perfect medium to start writing songs. By harnessing melody and rhythm in one instrument he fell in love with production, song-writing and audio engineering. ‘When I learned guitar and bass, it made me a better drummer. That’s when I learned how important listening and creating space was in music!”
Jed dove deep into audio engineering and production. Being able to create full blown productions from scratch in his bedroom was transformative. He was fortunate enough to mentor under Gina Fant-Simon ( who was truly a Pro-tools wizard and fantastic songwriter) and Kevin Killen (5 time grammy winning mixing engineer). Fast forward 10 years he now owns and operates Ear Bender Studios.
Whether Jed is riding his bike, getting overloaded with cute aggression because of he and his Fiancés three dogs, slack-lining in the park or getting his hands dirty in the garden you can guarantee that music is constantly playing is his head. Seriously non-stop!
